Hunter: Mitriin and Staahan are in Domains not in Aerona. I know that Pete Venters said this once but he revised this. -MORT MORT 10:30, 9 April 2006 (CDT)

Oh, ok. I don't know everything :) I'm just saving some of the work I have put in the big Wikipedia.
The entry on the Domains is partly overlapping that of Aerona, that's confusing. Hunter61 10:34, 9 April 2006 (CDT)
Don't forget the Prerevisionist category on a lot of your articles, please! Great work otherwise!VestDan 10:46, 9 April 2006 (CDT)
Hiya Hunter!
I saw you made redirect from the Burning Isles to the Spice Isles. Are you certain the Burning Isles are supposed to be part of the Spice isles, or did you take that from my Spice Isle entry? If the later is the case, perhaps the redirect should be scrapped since I'm not certain whether this is the case.
Also: are you certain there are only 3 island in the Burning Isles? For I only named the ones known by name, so there might be more.
Sorry if I caused any confusion! the Squirle master 10:14, 9 April 2006, (GMT -6)
You're right, I took that from your clue. For myself, I thought they didn't belong together ....
I know of the 3 Burning Isles, I've never seen any others mentioned Hunter61 11:19, 9 April 2006 (CDT)
Again, Hunter, please remember to include the categories for all the storyline time-periods in which a location appears. For example, Urborg is both pre-revisionist, and featured in the weatherlight saga. I've fixed a few, but I'd like if you touched up the rest. VestDan 11:23, 9 April 2006 (CDT)
ok Hunter61 11:25, 9 April 2006 (CDT)
Cool. Thanks a lot! Btw, go look at your White Woods article, I fixed the quirion elves link to link to the part of the Elves article talking about the Quirions. You seem to be doing a lot, so knowing how to direct to a part of an article should be useful to ya. VestDan 12:58, 9 April 2006 (CDT)
I'v just removed Tamingazin from Terisiare.
Tamingazin is a separate continent. -MORT 13:19, 9 April 2006 (CDT)

Thanks![]

I want to thank you for all the work you've been doing. It is greatly appreciated. --GeoMike 18:50, 1 August 2011 (EDT)

Thanks for your help in reverting --GeoMike 06:25, 30 November 2011 (EST)
I've been going back through pages, and I noticed that you had blanked User:CorralMathew952's spam/solicitation page (now deleted). It's appreciated that you've picked up on the page; but, in the future, if you could notify a sysop via the sysop page (if it still exists or is used/maintained) or via their userpages, that would be more effective and much more appreciated. I'm trying to work on how to curb down on these spammers; they're not doing much good for anyone. Anyhow, keep up the good work. Cheers! --MM (talk!) 03:19, 13 March 2012 (EDT)
Thanks for the heads up; thankfully, GeoMike blocked the users in question and restore the status quo pro by deletion. Again, cheers. --MM (talk!) 11:18, 20 March 2012 (EDT)

Contact me on the forums[]

I'd like to have a discussion. Nothing untowards, just putting our heads together for some planning.Barinellos 03:22, 23 May 2012 (EDT)

Designers / Developers[]

Where did you get your list of Developers for 5th edition and Designers for Antiquities, Fallen Empires, Ice Age, Alliances? I found a page that has slightly different information from that on those set pages. http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/mm/150 states 5th Edition was developed by Mark Rosweater, Skaff Elias and Robert Gutschera only. --GeoMike 13:42, 23 May 2012 (EDT)

Planar Types[]

Before you go any farther, I'm honestly not sure if it's really necessary to put the "Planar Type" thing in all the articles. Particularly considering that might be like... half the entry for some of them. It just doesn't look great. Best to just have a big index of planar types instead of mentioning it on each page, don't you think? Plus, it kind of breaks some of the in-world context that I've been trying to set up on pages. Maybe create a category type for it?Barinellos 22:24, 28 May 2012 (EDT)

Archiving[]

I've archived years of talk. Hopefully, you won't mind that I've done so.

Hunter61, who are you on the MTGS Forums? We're trying to arrange so that you can access (more) subfora. Thanks! --Magic Mage (talk) 01:47, 1 September 2012 (EDT)

My reply to your reply that you left on my talk page is on User talk:Magic Mage (my talk page). Apologies for any inconvenience. I'll try to have SOPs and stuff in place, hopefully with input from colleagues. --Magic Mage (talk!) 07:36, 4 September 2012 (EDT)
Whoops. Sarnath'd, I guess. --Magic Mage (talk!) 07:39, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

thanks[]

How good is it when a sysop is welcoming bots left and right? That's what I get for trying to bite more than I can chew... thanks for the catch though - votan (talk) 11:03, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

RE: Category names[]

Please understand that, whilst convenient, it is worth noting, in category names, things that are real world and things that are of Magic, the game of Magic, or the storylines of Magic.

There are deprecated categories that I was to phase out but can no longer do so. These include [Affiliations, Category:Magic storyline planes/Category:Planes (for Category:Magic planes, considering the overlap and the lack of exclusivity between game and storyline planes, and the fact that this is a far too subtle point to need such distinction).

With respect to categorisation, unless you guys don't care too much about it, draft up something regarding standards and promote good (and non-ugly) coding.

Cheers. --Magic Mage (talk!) 14:18, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Categories and character stubs[]

Seriously, why did you undo all my categorisation work? It all seems really foolish and bull-/pig-headed, especially without justification.

If you were the person at the top of the chain making the decision to, well, screw things up, I'd like you to explain why you did what you did from January onwards. If you were going to make such a change that negatively affected the wiki, the reasons for which aren't clear or readily discernible, it might have been good to explain yourself. --Magic Mage (talk!) 15:27, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

Also, why have you undone the merges? The site never needed, does not need, and will not need literally thousands of stubs that won't get any longer on characters.
Admittedly, I overlooked the fact that you probably didn't think long and hard before you did and do things but now it's impossible to find characters, for example, from similar storyline arcs or to read through all of them in as short a time as possible ('cause finding is now via the massive and massively nonspecific category "Characters", sifting takes forever, and clicking/closing/switching tabs takes another eternity).
On the plus side, well, at least we sort of had autoregistering users under control. --Magic Mage (talk!) 15:31, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Here's an extract from WP:
"Every Wikipedia page should belong to at least one category. (However, there is no need to categorize talk pages, redirects, or user pages, though these may be placed in categories where appropriate.) In addition, each categorized page should be placed in all of the most specific categories to which it logically belongs. This means that if a page belongs to a subcategory of C (or a subcategory of a subcategory of C, and so on) then it is not normally placed directly into C. For exceptions to this rule, see Non-diffusing subcategories below." [Source] --Magic Mage (talk!) 17:59, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Overcategorization is also a good read. I should review it soon too. --Magic Mage (talk!) 18:00, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Guild Champions[]

Good work setting up the Ruric Thar page. Think we can make a project of getting all the guild champions in? I can handle uploading the art and filling out the main body if you can get the character boxes and references set up.Barinellos (talk) 04:01, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Yes, we can do that --Hunter61 (talk) 04:22, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Slivers/Trivia[]

Has that been updated for M14? InThePeachGarden (talk) 15:59, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

  • No, you can do it if you want --Hunter61 (talk) 19:47, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Theros material[]

Hi Hunter,

As you seem to be the most active of all the users and, indeed, sysops of the wiki, I thought I might make this suggestion to you. As things such as trivia (e.g., reprinted cards) are things that are going to be readily searchable, these things can probably take a back seat as things such as official storyline or setting stuff from dailymtg.com (e.g., "Planeswalker's Guide, Pt. 3") or MaRo's design columns are added.

Having gone back and searched for good sources or specific articles to fill out and support statements, I know it's a real pain in the butt to not have done this as things are made known (even if it's relatively dull, routine, and time-consuming; but, they do say a stitch in time saves nine!).

Just a thought. If you have thoughts of you own, I'd be glad to hear them. :)

Just a 'nice job'[]

Nice job on editing and maintaining the wiki.

Shame not more are also editing (but it's a volunteer thing of course). —Magic Mage (talk!) 12:07, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

Template:Sets[]

Could you replace "Huey" with Khans of Tarkir in Template:Sets? I can't do this myself, it's protected... --Spike 23:33, 20 May 2014 (CET)

Token list[]

I hope that's a good wow :D Think it'll be useful? --Ten19 (talk) 05:04, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

It certainly was a good wow. It was something on my wishlist but too much work (I thought)> I only think we should make the first column linkable to the creature-types. --Hunter (talk) 16:07, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
Creature-type links makes sense and is certainly doable, I'll take care of that. --Ten19 (talk) 17:17, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Template:Main_Magic[]

  • Can you unprotect Template:Main_Magic? I think it'd be useful to be able to keep it fresh when interesting things get announced. Thanks! --Ten19 (talk) 22:14, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
    • Done. Thumbs up for all the good work! --Hunter (talk) 07:35, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Opinion on Keyword Infobox[]

Hey there. I'm curious as to what you think of the Template: Infobox keyword that I put together, for all of the keyword mechanics pages. I implemented it on a few pages, including Hideaway, Miracle, Absorb and Affinity. It condenses a lot of info nicely, only downside I see is that it interacts poorly with Template:Rules, as the yellow background has padding all the way to the right. If you think this is something worth doing, I think I know how to tweak the Rules template to not spread the yellow so far, and will implement the infobox on all of the appropriate articles. --Ten19 (talk) 21:54, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

I think it looks nice, and gives a nice identity to pages and the site. It's a lot of work though --Hunter (talk) 04:48, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
BTW, thx for all your efforts these last weeks. My fellow mods seem to be occupied elsewhere --Hunter (talk) 04:48, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
I don't mind a bit of work if it makes the site more helpful and have better consistency, I'll get cracking on adding the rest. And it's my pleasure, glad to be of use! :) --Ten19 (talk) 05:05, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
Also, my next project idea after this involves completely revamping how we implement the Comprehensive Rules throughout the wiki, basically building a template database of each rule down to the number/letter, and then setting up a system of includes that are called. More on that after I finish with the keywords. --Ten19 (talk) 05:15, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Unprotection requests[]

Just wondering, if I'd like a page or template unprotected for editing, is it easier for you to ask you here or on the discussion/talk page for that page? I'm looking at Template:Guilds of Ravnica now and I think I can make it look a bit prettier. AlmaV (talk) 21:13, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Just ask me here, I'm the only active mod. I'll do it gladly. --Hunter (talk) 04:16, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Template:RTR theme decks please. Has a weird typo (Selesneya instead of Selesnya) and could probably be made prettier. AlmaV (talk) 23:58, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
Done --Hunter (talk) 04:47, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
