Rhino is a creature type used for cards that depict mammals with a thick armored skin and protuberant horns that grow from their nose.

Description

Rhinos mainly appear in green and white. The first creature to bear the type was Crash of Rhinos in Mirage, though the artifact Ebony Rhino from Homelands was later issued errata to become a Rhino as well.

Storyline

Rhino's can be found in multiple planes. There is only one known variation of it that can be classified as sapient beings, the Rhox.

Ravnica

On Ravnica, a large rhino known as a Ceratok is feared throughout the city for its rampaging. Its hide may be used for bolt-proof chestplates.

Rhox

Originally, the Rhox was just a beast, but the Starter 2000 promo and accompanying television advertisement featured it as an anthropomorphic rhino warrior/soldier.[1][2] Accordingly, it was erratad as a Rhino Beast in the Grand Creature Type Update. Later on this design was used as a basis for the Rhoxes in Alara.

Alara

On Alara, before the Conflux, Rhoxes were exclusively found on Bant, where they usually prefered the roles of soldiers and monks.
