Ravnica has been run by ancient and powerful guilds for ten millennia, and is bustling with life, being filled to the brim with all species, races, classes, and cultures possibly conceivable. To maintain the stability of the plane, the Guildpact, an age-old and potent document and spell, was drawn up, mostly by the parun of the Azorius Senate, Azor I, and co-signed by the paruns of the other guilds. Lately, as of the events surrounding the Ravnica Cycle, however, specific events have been taking a toll on the Guildpact, and the "City of Guilds" may be pushed to its limits.
