James Hata is a game designer, currently working for R&D at Wizards of the Coast.[1][2]
James was introduced to Collectible Card Games in the sixth grade with Magic: the Gathering. He also played many other CCGs including Yu-Gi-Oh!, VS System and Universal Fighting System. Eventually, he entered tournaments for UFS. He won the 2007 US National Championship and World Team Championship. He was also able to win the World Championship at Gen Con the following year, getting hired at Fantasy Flight Games soon afterwards to be the new developer of the UFS product line. Among other things, he was developer for the Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game.[3] For Wizards of the Coast James works as a designer on Duel Masters and Kaijudo.
