Yennett is a sphinx from an unspecified plane.
Description
Most sphinxes live in solitude, keeping their esoteric wisdom and arcane insights to themselves. Yennett is not most sphinxes. Knowledge is power, she believes, and she has used that power to become a queen. Her magic snatches moments from the future and pulls them into the present.[1]
She is also said to talk using riddles her disciples alone can unravel.[2]
Trivia
Given that it was a "odd matters" Commander, Gavin Verhey designed Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign to be as odd as possible.[3] It has an odd number of words in its card name, each with an odd number of characters and the art features an odd number of things. The flavor text is also a odd number of words, each with an odd number of characters again. It has an odd number of keywords, odd power and toughness and an odd mana cost. Even its collector number is odd.
