name2 In template[edit source]

The name2 is used only for Morph because it does have megamorph too. --Hanmac (talk) 20:01, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Thanks I will update the logic. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 20:05, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
I have also found kicker and multikicker. However the logic works again. Thank you very much, for spotting this. :) - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 20:31, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Idea for List of mentioned persons[edit source]

i don't know if you are the right person, but i wanted to make a list of mentioned persons like " Zarra, lullmage" from Dazzling Reflection and others which does not have their own wiki pages yet. What do you think about that? --Hanmac (talk) 07:48, 11 January 2016 (UTC)

So if I understand you correct, every person mentioned in a flavor text but has no major story appearance get a catch all article? Flavor text personae or something along the line? - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 18:37, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
yeah that was my idea like "Samila, Murasa Expeditionary House" (is that a person or a location?) was mentioned on multiple cards, but i don't think its enough to make its own Wiki-Page. an idea how it might look is below. --Hanmac (talk) 19:13, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
Samila, Murasa Expeditionary House
I mean that sounds good. I am not really good in remembering flavor test and I would not really know how to start and where to look. So I am probably not of great help. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 19:30, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
I think it is an excellent idea. I was considering the same thing recently. Probably needs to be diffrentiated by plane and / or race. --Hunter (talk) 21:09, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
I also like this idea. Had the same thought after going through some flavor text of OGW, where the "The War Diaries" are cited. VinciEX (talk) 22:13, 11 January 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for finishing my work[edit source]

I started with the five colored symbols and then did 1–6 just so the site wouldn't suddenly look awful, but life immediately required my attention so I couldn't tend to the rest. Thank you for continuing my work in collaborative faith. —ProtonZero[talk] 07:40, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

No problem it motivates me to get rid of the over categorization and svg is a great format for wikis... I only am complete inapt when it comes to images. :) - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 07:50, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Numerical mana symbols[edit source]

You changed File:1.svg, File:2.svg, and File:3.svg with the summary "modern font", but those three I had specifically made to use the modern font. The ones you changed them to are actually the pre-Modern font (narrower, slightly less legible at a glance). I didn't have all 20 symbols because I was making them from scratch based on some PNGs of them; I only got through 3. Would you be all right with reverting those three? —ProtonZero[talk] 22:54, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Sure. I thought the narrower one was the modern font... Well, not the first time I am wrong. Please revert, and if you have the other versions ready, you can just overwrite the files I uploaded. It is the same format so no template updating anymore which was my primary concern. We then just need to clean up the image section. I am not as experienced with the svn format, so I would probably just slow you down with svn file creation. :) - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 23:09, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
No problem. I'm not sure when the rest will be ready, but the style is at least not so different that 1/2/3 are jarring against the others. I was thinking of temporarily uploading the same ones you ended up doing, and for the same reason (template updating). Thanks again for your help. —ProtonZero[talk] 23:29, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
I mean the since thing is that you probably can reuse a the code once you have the digits (1234567890). Or at least I would think that. I also uploaded the X then we have all mana symbols in svg format, which are not obsolete or an un-mana symbol. Also I like your idea of templateing the signature... Perhaps I will try this was well. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 00:52, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
It's kind of tricky, you have to make two pages. One page will have your actual signature, and the second page just contains the first page as a template, then you set your signature in your preferences to be the second page. If {{sig}} contains the text Foo and you try setting your signature to {{sig}}, it automatically converts to {{SUBST:sig}}, and when you sign your posts with ~~~~ it won't actually put {{sig}} in it, it'll put Foo in directly. So you make {{sig2}} which just contains the text {{sig}}, and that way your signature becomes {{SUBST:sig2}} which swaps out to be, finally, the intended {{sig}} when you sign with ~~~~. —ProtonZero[talk] 02:07, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Idea for Land cycle table[edit source]

hi i got a new idea to make a land cycle table, with specially showing which land cycles are in standard.

this is my first idea, which will be continued for the later/older sets, and adding rows for monocolored and the tri colored too.

Set Allies Enemy
ORI 5
BFZ 5 2
OGW 5 3
SOI 5 5

my problem how is how to design the page and how to call it, because i have no idea. --Hanmac (talk) 19:20, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Sounds interesting... Basically a table of the available mana base, or just multicolored lands? Would probably be simpler I assume. I would add these to the respective pages: Standard, Modern and Eternal. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 19:32, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
i want to make it in one table, because the lands in Standard are in modern too. thats why i will add a divider in the table like "below for Standard". First i will do only two color like Allies and Enemy color, extra mono color (like some lands in ORI) and three colored (in KTK) will be added later (because it didnt happen that often) --19:42, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
I see your point. Perhaps name the article "Available Mana Base" becasue this is what you are ultimately trying to build, right? - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 19:47, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

there is the result Available Mana Base‎‎, i think i got most of the stuff, you are free to add stuff or make the page more good looking.

PS: for Shadows over Innistrad, is that Dryad Horror creature which is a "creature" version of Springleaf Drum, should that be added to the Functional Reprints, "Color"shifts?

PS: the Page about Horrors might need to be updated, specially the Innistrad section about the other Horrors, or the Possessed Horrors from Torment, but specially it does need to be added that Horrors are not only black but can appear in all colors (specially blue) --Hanmac (talk) 16:57, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

I was thinking about making the tables sort-able. I will look into this how to best approach this.
I also had noticed the Spring Leaf Drum effect on the Dryard Horror, but it is neither a functional reprint nor a color shift since on is a creature and the other an artifact. Summoning Sickness is one of the main differences and the ways to handle these a very different on dies to Shock the other to natural state. Same effect, very different cards. Currently we just don't list these relations since it would just be to much. Vendilion Clique and Thought-Knot Seer for example are often brought up in comparison since the Seer was modeled after the Clique.
And yes the Horror page needs an update :) - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 19:37, 26 March 2016 (UTC)

Ravnica mechanics‎[edit source]

hey thanks that you update the Template, do you like my idea with the coloration? Also do you like my add with the Storm count to the Infobox? it might have more information but i don't know how to make it better --Hanmac (talk) 14:15, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

The storm scale in the infobox is quite cool. The Nav looks pretty I just wrapped it in the standard navbox to have all the default functionalities and behavior. :) - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 14:19, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

Formatting[edit source]

Why did you remove the spacing on Eternal Masters? It's supposed to make the wiki markup more readable. —Fenhl 22:48, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Ah I was editing on a small screen and the extra spacing made it actually harder to read. At least in my opinion. So I removed it. But I guess it is personal preference. I have no strong feelings about it. I just found it annoying so I changed it. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 07:16, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
I used to be a regular editor on the Minecraft Wiki where this is policy, and in my experience it's nice to have pages formatted consistently. Another argument in favor of the spacing is that it's how MediaWiki itself does it, as you can see by looking at the source of this section, which I created using the “start a new section” button. —Fenhl 10:06, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
I never knew this. But it is interesting. Currently we don't have any policy in place. At least not that I am aware of. But perhaps we should. As you probably are aware of, we have some really strange formatting on some template calls. I would start a topic in the forums to discuss this. Thanks for pointing this out. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 11:02, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
I did create a discussion. Please share your thoughts with the rest of the community here I think you have good arguments. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 18:35, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
Oops, I didn't see the part about the discussion and reverted it. —Fenhl 19:01, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
Not a problem I have no strong feelings about this, but I think we should discuss it in general. And you made a good point. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 19:09, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

Re: columns-list[edit source]

You're more than welcome to continue replacing older uses of our dated Template:Div col - I'm guessing you want to obsolete that template and replace it with Template:Div col new? Be my guest, but make sure not to remove Template:Div col end if you do. That template is still necessary for any uses of div col which use wikitext formatting that the template's content parameter can't handle.[1] --Corveroth (talk) 21:07, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Exactly that is my play the column list is much more straight forward to use and ideal for many of the lists we have. Thanks for adding this. :) - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 21:12, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Replaced all pages which used div col to now use columns-list. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 02:23, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Some symbols don't appear[edit source]

What happened with some mana symbols? Some of them don't appear to me. In Numbers_and_symbols page, I can't see the zero mana, generic mana, monocolored hybrids, snow, future sight, planeswalker, chaos, and color indicators. --Tuamir (talk) 23:03, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Working just fine for me. Try clearing your cache, first. If that's no good, what OS and browser are you using? --Corveroth (talk) 21:36, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
That would have been my suggestion as well. I assume it is a cache issue since you can see some of the svg files. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 21:41, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Requested a batch of screenshots. I'm not seeing anything like what you describe on any configuration - plenty of bad screenshots returned from instances that didn't load the page, and a couple of exotic configs that load no images at all, but no hit-and-miss scenarios. --Corveroth (talk) 21:44, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Well, okay, scratch that. Here's one where only some of them are properly visible - it looks like the rest are showing a 1px line, maybe? Edit: Okay that's a 3+ year old fringe browser on 6+ year old fringe OS, I don't think that's worth worrying about even if it's legit. --Corveroth (talk) 21:50, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
You can see what I can see clicking here. Yes, I erased my historial, cookies and cache, all of that. Still not working properly. --Tuamir (talk) 23:03, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Try loading the image directly. Can you see this? And again, what browser, OS, and possibly extensions are you running? I have a suspicion. --Corveroth (talk) 23:34, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I see that image when I go to the link. In Numbers_and_symbols page, I have the problem with Explorer. With Firefox is fine. --Tuamir (talk) 20:39, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
Also do you know when the issue first occurred, because the hybrid symbols are in place for quite some time now. - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 01:34, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
I don't know. I realized the day you uploaded the color indicators. --Tuamir (talk) 20:39, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
What does this page look like to you? --Corveroth (talk) 23:34, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
With Explorer, it looks like this. --Tuamir (talk) 14:30, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Oi that looks pretty wrong. I just checked in Edge there it looks fine. Do you know which explorer version you are using? And what is your OS? - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 14:34, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Version 11.0.9600.1..... Last version with last updates. Windows 7. --Tuamir (talk) 14:42, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
But hey, progress. Now we know there's a problem with IE's handling of those SVG files. Would you check the same page again and see how it looks now? When I get home tonight, I'll start looking into possible fixes if y'all haven't found one by then. --Corveroth (talk) 15:30, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
It's fine now.--Tuamir (talk) 20:43, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Good. That fits with it being the IE behavior linked below, and not something more exotic and harder to trace. --Corveroth (talk) 21:10, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

Here we go, this looks like the necessary fix: https://css-tricks.com/scale-svg/ --Corveroth (talk) 15:37, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

Sometimes Microsoft really irks me. However we probably only need to update our css or the {{Symbol}} template, since all out symbols (including all svg symbols utilize this). - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 17:07, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
At least we're not still in the bad old days of trying to support IE 5.5 and IE 6. If you don't jump on this, I'll take a look this evening. --Corveroth (talk) 17:50, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Took me some time to get into this. First attempts are no good, I'll sleep on it and see if I can find a solution tomorrow. Most of the fixes I'm finding want us using <svg> instead of <img> elements. --Corveroth (talk) 06:35, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I wanted to look into it but then I got sick. Perhaps I can figure something out when my head is not spinning quite as fast. :P - Yandere Sliver H09 symbol.png 16:39, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
