Ixidorsdreams

Ix is a former member of MTGS, one of the best storylinists here ever. He was currently banned under his "new" alias, Sleeping Villain. I thought that his work done for the forums deserved an own page for him, now that he is gone for good :(...hope you don't mind. Caranthir 04:20, 2 March 2007 (CST)

Hi, thanks for the answer :). Yeah, it is kind of a tribute to him, considering that he's not coming back. I think that the User pages (not User:User) pages should be reserved for staff and former staff members, some extraordinary banned users (TFE, Ix), and some active users with extraordinary achievements (Hunter, VestDan etc.). Thanks for the suggestion of making my own page, in the light of the aforementioned, it honors me. And btw, feel free to call me Jan ;). Caranthir 06:53, 2 March 2007 (CST)

Working on:

I don't mind that you do that, but I have read some usertalks and discovered that there is generally two approaches to this. And I have found a page that claims that the key-words must be capitalised. VestDan have had discussions on this too but since the other person didnt find that page he let VestDan "win" I am not so likelly to let such a thing go.

I can offer two solutions:

The academic: We trace down any pages on the subject, and work out a detailed set of rules on how Pages must be Capitalized, then give it the easiest pagename we can imagine when trying to search for it and rename it into that.

The "Free" solution: We just give a damn about it. People name things like they want a nd capitalize them as they see fit. This will create several pages about the same thing, but seen through the eyes of Darwinism that aint bad. May the fittest pages survive. I vote for the last solution but being a realist I think people in here are more likelly to chose the academic solution. I feel sad for you people but you are the numeroust!

So what will we do :) ?

The contested rules are here...

Project:Naming conventions (technical restrictions)

And VestDan's comments here QUOTE: "I noticed you moved several articles, like "Combo Winter" to be "Combo winter", with the second world not capitalized. Really, for consistancy's sake, both words should be capitalized -- they were right to begin with. VestDan 10:15, 16 April 2006 (CDT) Hmm, memory fails me, I remembered it otherwise, but it looks like I at least payed attention to VestDan :) Faceless Wanderer 07:34, 2 March 2007 (CST)

I have been looking at some of the special pages and it seems like the general public is against that rule page. People seem to have settled on another pagenaming procedure than the recomended one. For example The rules would lead to a page name like "Wicked darkman of phyrexia" while the general wikitarians prefer "Wicked Darkman of Phyrexia"... Sift through the special pages yourself to see the proof.

This means that we are faced with a "Rules vs Public Demands"/"Rules vs public demands" situation! So what will we do now?

I suggest we bend the rules and follow public demand, because one day the public may demand what I want and rules may be overthrown.

Okay, I've had my dayly rebellious ramble, sorry for teasing ;P Faceless Wanderer 07:55, 2 March 2007 (CST)

Working on:

I have made a page "Orphaned Pages" that needs deletion where/what do I write so it will end up on a MOD's work desk. (I saw you do some delting!) Faceless Wanderer 07:55, 2 March 2007 (CST)

Link me anyway's

If the two Boab articles have been made with the same vigor you treat this wiki with, then they are worth reading. And bad reception usually means that people are; A:Jealous B:Uncomprehending C:Evil. So, try me out! Faceless Wanderer 10:01, 8 March 2007 (CST)

Jump Right In

When I found this wiki I didn't see a sign saying it was only for certain people to edit, so I jumped right in. I hope I didn't tread on anyone's work. It is great to see a wiki dedicted to my hobby. I created a page called tutor, because I didn't think everyone would know what the word tutor meant in magic context. This wiki is exciting for me --GeoMike 06:03, 9 March 2007 (CST)

Hello, Magic Mage. I need some assistance. I'm new to the Wikipedia, but I have a strong desire to start the Russian translations of the articles here, on MTG Salvation Wiki. What do I have to do first?

Hi

I see you noticed my edits. I have a slight question about them. Im not sure the size I chose was the very best. Currently, it looks like this: Searing Rays (card). I was hoping that the contents would go into the little space on the left and the rest of the info would just go under the infobox.

Do you think that the infobox should be smaller and just fit into the top right corner of the page like normal infoboxes?

Ok I'll fix it up a bit. I was thinking that each card page should have such info as that. =/
omgzorz... thanks so much for that. I was just about to do all the links but you saved me the trouble ^_^. Ty

Darwinism in magic! But if someone searches for darwinism they are unlikely to find it...Faceless Wanderer 10:55, 11 April 2007 (CDT) Gotta run now. sorry. laterFaceless Wanderer 10:55, 11 April 2007 (CDT)

Thanx for the moving of "lost valley syndrome" the funny thing is I always write it "syndrome" but I panicked and thought that "syndrom" migth be the correct title. what a laugh.

Regarding me and my "Defenses". Whenever someone twacks at my brainchildren I generally respond with a pack of counterarguments and an agrressive tone. It's only words though, a deep longing for agumentation. It's pretty rare I meet people able to "counter-counter" counterattacks! But it's more bark than bite. So there's no need to be gentle with me :) If you feel my viewpoints are incorrect just give it a go and let out some frustrations alongside. Faceless Wanderer 10:12, 12 April 2007 (CDT)

Okay I have been experimenting a bit. look at this page "Category:Decklibrary" and the three connected pages. Have I overdone anything? Missed a general procedure? Is it a coincidence that the pages have some relevance to you? Faceless Wanderer 06:05, 13 April 2007 (CDT) EEEKK!! why wont it display the category like I want to???

HRMN! Here I go again. Talk:Searing Rays (card) I think all cards deserve a page with as much info on it as possible! Faceless Wanderer 06:28, 13 April 2007 (CDT)

QUOTE: "relevance to me? Well, there's no need for any sour tone": Heh! gotta love language, you misunderstood me. It was highly relevant to you since you have played pdc/common yourself. The fact that you have posted articles with your experiences made me think that if i pointed out your relevance to such materials, you migth nostalgily embrace at least parts of that product. In other words, if you have a day where you cant figure out what to write about, feel free to relive your experiences in that format and learn about the new tech as well. And about the all cards project I believe that 1 card = 1 page. It will take a long time before we have all 9000+ pages. I will soon be launching another memetical attack on you all attempting to change your minds. Look at it as a learning experience :) (P.s. use the time to discover what memetical means) Faceless Wanderer 06:22, 14 April 2007 (CDT)

Alternative clan names

I have no idea about this. I just took them from the Wikipedia page and thought they were just common nicknames everybody used to refer to them.

Translations

Hi MM. You asked to express our interest on translations here. I'm thinking about some translations to Polish (Storyline stuff mainly). I'd like to hear if there is any pattern created for such activity. Things like naming articles, etc. Rrose1978 will help me, so if you can, direct all this help to Rrose as well. Thanks. About the Chinese Translation

Sorry,it is the first time for me to write ( translate ) on a wiki, so I don't know much about editing (even how to “talk” here.) I saw you do a lot work for the Chinese tranlation section construction,so thank you for your modification. They are nice and handy.

Together with Crimison Hellkite, I will do the Chinese translation now an then, mainly on the storyline and biography.

I will say sorry in advance if there is any inconvenience I may make for your postediting or trimming. And I hope you can give my some instructions, both in general and in detail.

Regards

Unholy strength

Unholy strength is remarkable on one aspect. That it is the only card in magic where the art has been changed due to public demand. I find that kind of information far more interresting than the price and popularity of black lotus. Religion will always end up in controversal context. While I may appear as a very unbelieving individual I do believe in a god, but my religion is probably held by a few individuals whom have had the same experiences about the universe. I believe that GOD, science and especially evolution are an integrated "thing".Faceless Wanderer 09:44, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Oh talented one! I have bugs???

And they say

Dark confidant

Well, I understand Fishysua's concern. And Dark confidant really does not thin out the deck more than any other carddrawing does, even if it does so repeatedly. The function he is trying to describe is how well the confidant supports a certain manacurve (And I guess that he has been trying to find the perfect statistical mix of curving out and using the confidant) He does describe it in a very incomprehensible way though, but probably because he knows what he does and cannot understand what it is we don't understand. He is also using pure science here, and nothing about his research is suggestive. It is solutions that are the peak of perfection in his area of expertise. I work with simulations, and they do work, but noone truly understands the full spectrum of evolutionary processes, so all simulated discoveries are extremelly hard to prove. I believe that the future deckbuilding will use heavy elements from his field as well as my area. I have tried to get him to explain his process in details but I'm not sure if he will be more able to do that than I am to simplify Simulations. Faceless Wanderer 09:49, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Languages

I am not sure it is a sound strategy to start translation at this point of time. You have all been stating how few of you there is to work with already existing pages, if people start heading for regional materials you will lose "workers" to those regions. Also there is the problem of having to few people to represent those areas. I am also far more likely to go fullscope Danish, because I am far more fluent with that. Then I would probably start on danish articles only and you would need someone translating MY pages, because I would claim that I was to bussy with those to translate anything. Chances are that I would use Danish as a platform for my "Free Wiki" project because Danish people have a more liberal mindset than most other countries does. (At least regarding free information) So are you really sure that this wiki should be multilingual at this time? If I were you I would wait. Take a look at the world, it is not handling segregation very well, and language is of a dividing nature. After all there is a huge gap between how I see this place and how most of you do. I also think this is an issue you should adress to the main populace of the wiki before it gets out of hand. Make a vote for single language or multilanguage before implementing it! Faceless Wanderer 10:08, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Darkman, if you say that you'd start your "free wiki", while working on Danish articles, we can always make a rule keeping anyone from doing an article which isn't already written in english ;-). Though it can be hard to check, if someone will start to write articles in some exotic language :-). MORT (T) 12:30, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes, "Спасибо" is right. Thanks you too. It is very pleasant for me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hauh (talkcontribs) 27 April 2007.
