We have begun migration of most wikis to our new host, Amazon Web Services. All but the top 100 wikis are in read-only mode until the migration is complete. Estimated completion: TBD -- Update: Fri 10/20 11pm UTC - We have encountered some unexpected issues. Our staff is working around the clock to complete this process as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Unicorn is a white and green creature type used for cards that depict noble white horses with a large, pointed, spiraling horn in the center of their forehead. They often are symbolic of chastity or purity. It is said that these elusive creatures can only be captured by a virgin. The desire for its magic horn inspires such bloodthirsty greed that all who see the unicorn will kill to possess it. Unicorns are hard to find, they don't care if you believe in them any more than you care if they believe in you.
The Adarkar Wastes, the barren, frozen plains of Ice Age era Terisiare were populated by unicorns (Adarkar Unicorn). Capashen knights are the only people known to have ridden a Unicorn (Capashen Unicorn). A Zebra variety lived in Jamuraa (Zebra Unicorn). On Ulgrotha Unicorns were sought after by the cooks of Baron Sengir (Feast of the Unicorn).
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Zebra Unicorn is the only multicolored Unicorn.
- Prized Unicorn from Magic 2010 is the first mono-green Unicorn. Doug Beyer thought that it should be green because of the overlap between the mechanic and the mythological flavor. It is hunted for its horn, so the Lure mechanic makes a ton of sense. It is also a natural beast, which is the sort of thing that green gets from a creative sense.
- Based on its artwork, Wishmonger became the only known Unicorn-folk in the Grand Creature Type Update.
- Attended Knight rides a Unicorn in the picture.
