Spiritcraft is the unofficial name of a mechanic utilized on cards from the Kamigawa block that have triggered effects whenever a spirit or arcane spell is played. It has been noted by Wizards that they wish it had been used officially as an ability word.
Examples[edit | edit source]
The text in brackets is not on the card itself, but is used to denote where the ability word would have been placed.

[Spiritcraft — ] Whenever you cast a Spirit or Arcane spell, target opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.
