Part of Sokenzan

Shinka (Japanese: しん; literally "True Fire") is a location in the Sokenzan mountains.

Description[edit | edit source]

Like in several other cases, there is a discrepancy between its portrayal on the cards and in the books.

Books[edit | edit source]

In the books, Shinka was a cave-dwelling of the o-bakemono Hidetsugu, where the ogre shaman lived, performed his rituals, worshipped his master, and trained his apprentices. In front of the cave, the ogre placed rows of heads on spikes, a warning sign for the people who would want to disrupt his business.

Cards[edit | edit source]

On the cards, Shinka keep is a hermitage high in the mountains, where ogre shamans dwell and perform their hideous blood rituals and oni summoning.
