Theme decks

Planechase consists out of four 60 card preconstructed theme decks.[1] Each deck comes with 10 plane cards.

Elemental Thunder[edit | edit source]

“  The "Elemental Thunder" deck is packed with big creatures that get stronger with every spell cast. If you first planeswalk to the Isle of Vesuva, every creature spell you cast will summon two creatures instead of one.[2]  ”

The eight rares in this deck are Forgotten Ancient, Ivy Elemental, Living Hive, Rumbling Slum, Taurean Mauler, Tornado Elemental, Verdant Force and Relentless Assault.

The deck also contains a special preview card to Zendikar in Beast Hunt, a card that had not been printed before but appears in Zendikar.

Metallic Dreams[edit | edit source]

“  The "Metallic Dreams" deck uses the power of artifacts to quickly produce the mana needed to cast powerful, mana-hungry creatures. Planeswalk to the Hippodrome to bog down combat while you amass your forces, then demolish the opposition.[3]  ”

The eight rares in this deck are Bosh, Iron Golem, Broodstar, Lodestone Myr, Master of Etherium, Pentavus, Darksteel Forge, Door to Nothingness and Loxodon Warhammer.

The deck also contains a special preview card to Zendikar in Whiplash Trap, a card that had not been printed before but appears in Zendikar.

Strike Force[edit | edit source]

“  The "Strike Force" deck enlists creatures with haste and double strike for quick attacks that are sure to leave a nasty mark. Planeswalk to the Academy at Tolaria West to refill your hand, and then use burn spells to finish off your opponents.[4]  ”

The eight rares in the deck are Balefire Liege, Menacing Ogre, Razia, Boros Archangel, Rorix Bladewing, Akroma's Vengeance, Furnace of Rath, Glory of Warfare, Insurrection.

The deck also contains a special preview card to Zendikar in Kor Sanctifiers, a card that had not been printed before but appears in Zendikar.

Zombie Empire[edit | edit source]

Zombie Empire is designed by Mark Purvis.[5]

“  The "Zombie Empire" deck rises up to take down opponents' creatures while growing an army of shambling undead. Then planeswalk to Grixis, a hellscape that rewards a plentiful graveyard. Your zombie forces should feel right at home.[6]  ”

The eight rares in the deck are Ascendant Evincar, Death Baron, Helldozer, Nefashu, Beacon of Unrest, Grave Pact, Phyrexian Arena and Profane Command.
