Olivier Ruel is a French former professional player. He has finished in the top eight of five Pro Tours, and held the record for most Grand Prix top eights until he was tied by Shuhei Nakamura in 2017, with 28 total (including five wins) to his name. In 2008, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. His brother, Antoine, was also a professional player, and joined Olivier in the Hall of Fame in 2009.
