Massacre Girl is an anonymous Rakdos spiker gang leader and assassin from Ravnica who leaves a trail of terror and murder wherever she goes.[1][2]

Description[ | ]

Massacre Girl is a strange, sinewy woman who looks somewhat like an ugly doll, starved to skeletal form, with a painted red smile.[3] She wears red and black and carries a knife in each hand.[4] She occasionally poisons her knives with a blood thinner to increase the spectacle of her victim's arterial spray.

She's a lunatic contract killer who has eluded capture by threatening the lives of officials who attempt to investigate or detain her.[5]

As a notable assassin, she was familiar with other assassins operating in the city, including Etrata.[4]

History[ | ]

Years before 10,075 ZC, Massacre Girl killed an Azorius arrestor for coin and a second just for fun.[5] Once, the father of one of her victims tried to kill her in vengeance. When he failed, she slaughtered the male line of the family and blinded the women.

In 10,075 ZC, she was hired to destroy a Selesnyan vernadi in the Rubblebelt and kill its followers, including the elf Cecilee.[3] Cecilee's brother, the Wolf Rider Ruzi, convinced the Gruul Zhur-Taa clan led by Nikya to join his crusade of vengeance.[5] Ruzi later broke into the Azorius South Records Hall and escaped with documents relating to Massacre Girl, before setting the building alight.[6]

She was subsequently ranked number 1 on the Azorius Ten Most Wanted. Her entry read:[6]

Guild Alignment: Rakdos

Profile: As a tool of the demon Rakdos, Massacre Girl leaves a trail of terror and murder wherever she goes. She's a contract killer who has eluded capture by threatening the lives of officials who attempt to investigate or detain her. She's notorious for inciting chaos and riots but whether this is out of personal ambition or at the client's behest is unknown. The suspect is directly linked with forty-seven murders and is suspected in the massacre of Selesnya missionaries in the Rubblebelt. The suspect has been classified as "untouchable" in the past, although that status is now up for redefinition in closed meetings of the Senate. Her records were recently stolen or destroyed in a fire at the South Records Hall.

Most Recent Offense: All of them.

War of the Spark[ | ]

It is unknown what occurred between Massacre Girl and Ruzi after the fire, as she was still alive at the time of the War of the Spark.[1] During the War, she became a minor celebrity amongst the Rakdos.[2]

Phyrexian invasion and its aftermath[ | ]

During the Phyrexian invasion, Massacre Girl gained a small but dedicated fanbase that sought to mimic her gleeful killing sprees — something that annoyed her to no end, as she hated people imitating her style. Attempts to dissuade her followers by murdering a few of them only backfired and instead led to increased popularity.[2]

Murders at Karlov Manor[ | ]

After the murder of Zegana, Massacre Girl was hired by Judith to kill the detective Alquist Proft, to send a message to the Ravnican Agency of Magicological Investigations not to interfere in guild business.[4][7] She was surprised and managed to injure him, but stopped when she realized he was working with Etrata, whom Massacre Girl respected. Later, she was brainwashed by the true killer and sent to kill Aurelia, killing ten guards and only regaining consciousness after she lost a fight with the Boros guildmaster.[8]

Massacre Girl was held in Boros custody for the remainder of the investigation, but released during a meeting at Vitu-Ghazi where it was revealed that Oba, one of the dryads of Trostani, was the true mastermind of the crimes.[9] She escaped the subsequent fight along with Judith. However, it had been revealed during the meeting that Judith had been intentionally weakening her guild in a ploy to seize power. As a result, Massacre Girl attacked Judith with a knife.
