Liches are beings who have stored their life force in an object called a phylactery so that their mortal body will endure upwards of millennia in undeath. Planeswalkers are capable of undergoing the transition to lichdom, as represented with such cards as Lich, Lich's Mirror, Nefarious Lich, and Lich's Mastery. Within the game, liches usually are of the zombie creature type. However, Demilich is a skeleton.
