The Core Set 2019 features five Planeswalker decks, one for each of Magic's colors.[1]
Description[ | ]
Each ready-to-play 60-card deck features a foil Planeswalker card. They come with one booster pack (instead of the usual two), a strategy insert and a Magic learn-to-play guide.[1]
They are designed to integrate with the M19's Welcome Decks, using similar themes and some of the same cards for familiarity, but with more power and depth.[2] In addition, the M19 Deck Builder's Toolkit uses fixed content that can be used to improve the content of the Planeswalker decks.[2]
The Planeswalker Decks of Core Set 2019 lack the usual planeswalker tutors, replacing them with a card that looks the top five cards and picks one card of the same color. This is because R&D decided to keep shuffling out of the beginners product.[3][4]
