The 2015 World Championship, the 22nd MagicWorld Championship, was held on 27–30 August 2015 in Seattle, United States, at the Penny Arcade Expo. 24 players participated, and the event was won by American Seth Manfield, who defeated Owen Turtenwald in the final.
Players who just missed out included Andrew Cuneo, who with 54 Pro Points in the previous season was only narrowly edged out by Jacob Wilson on tiebreakers. Josh Utter-Leyton, on 53 points, almost made it to his fourth straight World Championship, and New Zealand's Jason Chung was only denied a spot in the tournament thanks to Kentaro Yamamoto's top eight performance at the very last Pro Tour in 2014–15. In the Grand Prix Player of the Year race, Pascal Maynard was in contention until the very last tournament, but Alexander Hayne won the race, with 42 points to Maynard's 39.
