The Reaper King is the most powerful of the animated scarecrows in the world of Shadowmoor.[1] Some speculate he was once a normal scarecrow created by a kithkin cobblesmith that somehow gained sentience and resentment for his makers, growing in size and strength and taking in other animate scarecrows under his twisted aegis.
The Reaper King's crown was featured as the expansion symbol for Shadowmoor ().[2]
